Join the discussion on the Gender Pay Gap, our research findings and practical actions at the Fair Work Convention’s latest webinar ‘Making Work Fairer for Women over 50’ on Monday 24 October, 2022 from 4:00pm – 5:30pm.
About this event
Women over 50 in Scotland require greater support in the workplace and age-inclusive workplace practices are needed to address persistent inequalities in pay and progression , according to the latest research by the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, conducted on behalf of Scotland’s Fair Work Convention.
Fair Work Convention Co-Chair, Mary Alexander, will host this event and will first invite the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) to share their in-depth analysis of the research and reflections on the findings. Building on these, the Fair Work Convention will then present the Convention’s response to the research along with our recommendations for practical actions to improve workplace practices.
Finally, our panel of experts will debate the challenges to moving this agenda forward and will take questions from the audience in an open discussion. The panel will include:
- Pauline Rourke – STUC President
- Agnes Tolmie – Chair of the Scottish Women’s Convention
- Anna Fowlie, Chief Executive of the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations & Fair Work Convention member; and
- Charles Cotton – Senior Public Policy Advisor – CIPD Scotland
